Unfortunately, we need to talk about scientific communication.

Good scientific communication is an art. It should highlight salient findings of research in a high level and accessible way. It should provide clear messaging about the real-world impact of the findings without hyperbole.

Bad scientific communication is easy. Grabs the punchiest and sexiest message and massages the research to fit that agenda.

Depressingly, it's irritatingly easy to obfuscate bad scientific communication with slick writing and an intuitive argument. Naturally, our information environment is increasingly corrupted with often well-intentioned examples of bad sci-com.

My goal with my medium account is to highlight examples of poor scientific communication and explain what went wrong.
